9 pm and All is Well

I went for a walk, just the other day —

’twas in the twilight, after work;

Because I could, compelled that I should,

For such is the way of the wind that blows.

And I could tell:

“It’s 9 pm and all is well”,

But told no soul; I waved no bell.

Today, another: neighbourly sorrel

— It was before the eve;

She had no need, for a lantern —

walked all her own.

One good walk deserves another

And they answered the angel of the Lord who was standing among the myrtle trees, and said, ‘We have patrolled the earth, and behold, all the earth remains at rest.’
